Cape Town is a haven for coffee lovers, boasting some of the finest coffee shops in the country. Whether you're a local or a visitor, these three coffee shops are must-visits for their exceptional brews and unique atmospheres.
1. Terbodore Café - Franschhoek
Nestled in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, Terbodore Café is a gem for coffee enthusiasts. The first time we visited Terbodore, we were enchanted by its rustic charm and serene surroundings. As we stepped in, the aroma of freshly roasted coffee filled the air, instantly making us feel at home.

Terbodore is known for its artisanal approach, offering a range of specialty coffees roasted to perfection. Their Big Dog blend, named after the beloved Great Dane mascot, Jack, is a personal favorite. Often lounging on the couch, Jack adds a unique touch to the cozy ambiance. Michael and Alrishka Macaskill, the husband-and-wife team behind Terbodore, have created a space that feels like a sanctuary for coffee lovers.
Besides the outstanding coffee, Terbodore boasts a full deli with unique products, including Liviana Olive Oil and Honey. And don’t get us started on their croissant brittle – it’s divine! Our go-to coffee here is the Burundi Single Origin from Ninga Hills, which has a distinct and memorable flavor profile.
